I'm sorry this is a dumb question. I've recently installed XP on my iMac for games and I find myself rebooting to either OS several times a day. I'm just wondering if it will have a negative impact on the physical hardware such as the HD etc. Does anyone know? Sorry for the dumb question

It's not ideal, but you don't have many options other than using Parallels (if that would work for your Windows needs). It does put some additional stress on your machine, but it also provides you with considerably more usability.

Stop playing so many games. :D J/K

Rebooting isn't really bad. Shutting it down all the time and turning it back on is worse. Or basically:

Warm Boot = Ok
Cold Boot = Not so Good (when done in excess)
