I currently edit my mobile photos in Lightroom for iOS. I would consider switching to editing in Apple's Photos app, especially now that iOS 13 introduces white balance and tint adjustments (what took so long?). The photo filters, however, still feel like they came straight out of a 2010 version of Instagram. Photographers have been moving away from stylized photos that look obviously edited for years now.

Curious if editing in Photos in iOS 13 is significantly better than the previous version. Are the filters still the same? Are white balance, tint, and any of the other new adjustments now included in auto adjust (magic wand button) and does it do a good job? What has been your experience?

I shoot in RAW except when using the phone. Using the iOS app in 13 adds a whole bunch of tools. When I need more I use Lightroom, Affinity or one of several other apps. I do all my editing on the iPP and have for some time.

I think it’s a much greater improvement, especially with non-destructive video editing. It’s Photos and Pixelmator Photo for me.

In regards to filters, they’re the same, but you can apply the intensity of the filter by using the slider. And I think Apple’s vivid, dramatic, and BW filters aren’t that Instagram-like or overly stylized.

I’m finally glad they gave us almost the same tools from macOS. The warmth and tint sliders are finally normal, unlike their previous counterparts which were merged together.

Just like the filters, auto adjust also has an intensity slider. Works great, they finally added warping/distorting and mirroring photos. Hopefully they add more tools down the line.
