Hey everyone on Thursday 2 days ago I have just got my new smartphone LG G6 to replace my dropped and lost old smartphone the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the LG G6 is definitely soooo much more better then the Galaxy S6. :D

But I have big one concern about charging the battery in the LG G6 because when I charged the device for the 1st time there was a message saying "Fast charging" something like that and that made me really worried because I have heard that fast charging and heat is bad for the battery especially in long term and will shorten the battery life more quickly compared to a standard/slow charge and I am looking to use my LG G6 for a least 2 years before upgrading to a different and better phone.

And when it was fast charging it felt a little bit warm while using the LG G6 but definitely no where near the heat that I have experienced using my old phone Galaxy S6(while on fast charge and even on the standard/slow charge at times).

Unfortunately I can't find the option to turn of fast charging in the settings. :(

I have seen online by users that the battery in LG G6 is designed for the fast charging and heat and should not worry about it and that the fast charging the device won't degrade the battery faster but I am not too sure about that.

So I am wondering is Fast Charging is bad for the battery?? How to turn it off on my LG G6?? Will my battery die faster and won't last as long on a full charge in the future?? Should I get a different and less powerful charger to charge my LG6 smartphone?? o_O

Thanks!!!

No it's fine. Fast charging and wireless charging is fine for your device. Devices can get warm. Doesn't mean it will be like the note 7 where it will blow up.

Yes.

The slower you charge a battery, the better it is for it.

Phones can handle fast charging but over many cycles, its going to wear your battery out faster.

On 7.1 with Note 8 go to Device Maintenance, Battery then the 3 dots takes you to Advanced Settings where you can turn off Fast Charge
