Disabling Game Center has always been one of the first actions I perform when restoring an iPhone or iPad as new. During years, I’ve managed to leave as little trace of games in my profile as possible. I just don’t like people knowing how much, how often and what games I play.

However, now that I’m subscribed to Apple Arcade, games tell me they are unable to sync my saved data across my devices unless I enable Game Center… so… has any of you encountered this issue? If it is inevitable to enable Game Center to save game data from titles like Turmoil+, is it there any way to just make the profile as private as possible? What I really hate about GC is that you cannot delete your achievements or the registered data regarding your play time…

You can go into your Game Center settings and change the Profile Privacy so only you can view your activity (or Friends, or Everyone). I wish we had more granular control though. I don't mind my friends seeing my profile, but if there's a game I was just checking out or don't play anymore...I don't want it to stay on my profile.

It annoys me that we can't delete that information. It's a bit ironic how Apple is a privacy-minded company, yet they collect this information on you and you have no way to delete it or control what shows on your profile. I mean, even Facebook lets you do that. You can delete your history and/or remove stuff from your profile to control what other people see.

You know what? Having the Feedback app on the iPad where I’m testing iPadOS 18 beta, I’m going to use it to suggest that. And, if you want, I can share the suggestion here (sharing the number or title?) for you to send the same suggestion.

That would be great. I was thinking of doing the same thing.

The identification code of my feedback for a more customizable Game Center is:

FB15073511

I don’t know how you can send another comment to that feedback, but if you have the Feedback app and you know how, that’s my feedback code.
