I knew that Apple had replaced the Lightning cables in iPhones a few releases ago...but now that I actually bought an iPhone after the switch took place, I have what is likely to be the least utilized cable in my menagerie because the only brick I have capable of USB-C charging is a third-party Nintendo Switch charger/dock brick, and the Switch is almost always connected to it.

Does the C-Lightning cable bring anything new to the table that the A-Lightning cable doesn't?

It’s just faster, thus a lot more convenient for top offs. There’s some decent cheap ones from Ugreen, Anker, and Ravpower that are like $10-12 for 30W to max out the speed of charging

You can get a very good one for £10 the apple one is £18. Think I got my apple one for £15 from Amazon on sale. Saying that you don’t need to have it. You can charge off the old 5w adapter and there is nothing wrong with that. Just a bit slow.
