We have an iPhone 6+ and an iPhone 6S, I believe they’re both still on iOS 11.0.3 (I know the plus is, I assume the 6S is too). Just wanted to know if iOS 11.1.2 is still causing a lot of battery problems or other problems for these older phones, because I’m sure I saw that either 11.1.1 or iOS 11.1 were causing problems for the older phones.

As I recall, prerty much nothing in any of the bug fix or minor updates in iOS 11 has been causing any widespread issues really. If you are already on iOS 11 it doesn't really seem like there's any upside staying on some older 11.0.x version and not getting the more recent updates with bug fixes and other changes.

If you already on 11.0.3 it will probably only improve with 11.1.2. My 6 was horrible with 11.0.3 and got better with 11.1.x, still not great.

I don’t recommend it. iOS 11.1.2 was the worst version of iOS 11 for my 6+. I regret upgrading from iOS 11.1.1 which was much better for me.

I’m on iOS 11.2 beta 5 now. iOS 11.2 beta seems much better in both performance and battery life thus far. I think you should wait for iOS 11.2

It's very odd that a small bug fix release would be so significantly different and cause issues. It's certainly happened and happens, usually due to some weird installation issue or something like that, but often not something widespread or specifically unique to some version.

Yeah. It was honestly very frustrating. I personally feel that iOS 11 has improved steadily for me up till iOS 11.1.1. I have no idea why 11.1.2 was such a bad version for my 6+. The battery drain and performance was abysmal.

Happy to report that at least the 11.2 beta is much better though. Hoping that the final release will be even better.

Updating to 11 on my 6 killed my battery. I mean charging 5 to 6 times a day. I had apple run their diagnostics and they said I had issues with my battery so now I have an appointment scheduled to get it looked at...funny how I didn't have any issues until I updated to their latest iOS.

Huge battery drain issues for my 6s on all versions of iOS 11 so far. Stay on 10.3.3

The OP is already on iOS 11.

11.1.1 and 11.1.2 are basically the same and run fine for me.

The one thing I have noticed, location service use absolutely pillages battery in iOS 11. I’m convinced that is what is causing battery woes for a lot of people. I’ve disabled a lot of that stuff and have been fine since.

1hr usage roughly equates to 10% battery, except for location use. Then it’s more like a 8-9 hrs usage phone.

6S+ btw.

Hmm, this could be a cause of bad battery life for users around here.

On my 6S+, I turn off almost all of the location services under 'Privacy', so I don't experience any battery draining from location services. Also only have around 3 apps that I allowed to use location 'while using the app'.

Not for me. I tried turning off most of the location services keeping on only the essential ones, but didn't see any difference.
