Is iOS 5 needed for iTunes match?

I just want to match the songs on my two PC's right now. Can I do it without an iOS 5 device?

Well, you may be able to start the match process with iTunes 10.5 installed, but without a iOS5 device there's no benefit to matching songs (the whole point of iTunes Match is to allow you to download songs from iCloud to your iOS device).

Well, what if I wanted to match my PC iTunes library to the library on my laptop? Would that work?
