Hello. I have Page on my MBP. Although it is claimed that Page can import Microsoft Word documents, I found that it is not fully compatible. For example, after importing a Word document into Page, the layout are different. I am considering to buy an iPad so that I can fill in some forms or modify documents (in Word) on the bus for long trips. Of course, it would be the best if Word can be run on iPad. If the iPad version of Page is not fully compatible with Word, then I need to think twice.

I think you've answered your own question here, and even demonstrated the issue for yourself. Pages is a useful program but even on my Mac desktop, Pages does not import every nuance of Word files, particularly more complex files with forms, or tables and charts in my case.
So as you say, you might want to think twice.
Personally I think Microsoft is missing a tremendous opportunity by not making iPad apps for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

+1 I have used them both. DocsToGo loses less format, but even it gets "confused" with a complex page

Even if they did it wouldn't solve the compatibility problem with complex formatting, considering even different versions of Word have problems with complex formatting. It'd probably be better than Pages, though.
