Is it a good idea to keep your iPad plugged in to your Mac or PC all the time via USB ?

My new monitor has 2 usb ports and can't decide if I want to plug in my iPad Pro and iPhone into it.

Why would you want to do that? I mean don't you want to carry the iPad around wherever you want to use it instead of sitting right next to a computer?
