When I am at work I tend to just leave it plugged in all day for 12 hours straight....is this bad to just constantly leave it plugged in?

don't think so.
the MBA has a built-in, non-user-removable battery anyway

what are you gonna do with it even if it's bad for the battery?

OS X is a very smart system, once the AC adapter is plugged MBA switches and get all its power supply from it

so don't worry, let the OS handle these tiny things for you
you just enjoy the user experience and stay productive;)

No. The major thing you do need to do is to condition the battery one a month or so. Leaving it plugged in all of the time ruins the battery if you don't condition it. I'm talking about days on end- not a measly 12 hours.

Ya for the past 3 or 4 months I have mine setup in the recording studio - plugged into the wall adapter 24/7 and just sleep it every night. But as mentioned - about once a month I unplug it and just let it run down over night until the battery drains and it shuts itself down. Then I plug it back in in the morning and keep it plugged in for another month.
