Hi Mac lovers

Any ideas of the penryn processor is going to replace the current chip set in MBP? announced on Macworld expo?

Now the macbook and macbook pro are both using 2.2Ghz but with a big price difference which makes MBP a bit unfair...

a bit unfair? $1449 compared to $1999

and with the MBP you get firewire 800, DVI out a much nicer graphics card, and a 15" LED screen...i dont see how thats unfair...

yep, it is confirmed. the G5 "anniversary edition" powerbook is also coming at WWDC '08

:D :D

looks like a pretty good chance with January being a usual update month for mbps, and the chip being released 2 months earlier

No one can answer this question other than Apple execs and design team. You get what you pay for.. the price jump to 2.4 includes a video card upgrade as well. You will always pay a premium for quality electronics when they are still relatively new.

However, the video card in low end MBP is old enough (128mb)
I hope they can update 256mb for the low end in Jan

The 8600M GT even 128 MB of RAM is a decent mobile video card.

The only real developments that I see for the future are the 8800M and that's not even for thin, performance models.
