Relax, you & the MBP will be fine. I just finished using XP with bootcamp. This is my first MAC & I needed the idea of falling back to XP. Well now I have moved to Paralells and have deleted my Bootcamp partition. It was no problem at all. You don't have to reinstall OS when deleting Bootcamp.Just make sure you read the instructions.
The only issue I had was no fan control in XP using bootcamp. My MBP runs hot. I get the fan control through Paralells.

Good luck & have Fun

I've installed/witnessed Boot Camp on about 6 Macs, all without any problem whatsoever, but on these forums, I've read several threads about major problems with Boot Camp, so I would never promise that "nothing will happen to your computer". If you read the instructions and follow them thoroughly then you will have a better outcome. But remember, the instructions from Apple include backing up everything before attempting...
