I want to change it to Blu-Ray drive but is it plug & play and so easy like changing RAMS/HDD/GPU? Or I need to unscrew a lot of stuff and it gets all complicated? I've googled and searched but I couldn't find the answer...Thanks for the help..

Thanks ! I will take a look...my savior :D.. Oops I forgot to say my mac is 2010 Mac Pro...not Mac G5...Are they still same though? Sorry I'm not that professional in machines..

process is quite straight forward. buy from a vendor like OWC. they have step-by-step tutorials and videos that easily illustrate what you're looking to do.

The newer ones are very similar. The optical drive sits in a large slideout carrier sort of cage.

There are no screws in the process except the four holding the drive to the cage.

Very easy. The most disconcerting step for a first timer is pulling the drive cage out. There is a lot of resistance at first and it tends to make one think they will either break it, or there must be a screw somewhere holding it in.

The trick is to push against the frame just below the drive cage with your thumbs and pull the drive cage out with your fingers inside the openings, fingertips facing down.
