Hi guys,

(Yes I'm still fussing about what vid card to get) but something I didn't count on...

I can't find a solution to connect two Apple Cinema Displays (mini display port only) to the nVidia GTX680.

The 680 has one displayport and comes with an adapter but I can't find any adapters for either mini displayport to HDMI or mini displayport to dvi.

Is it not possible to connect two ACD's to this card?

Should be easily done. Even more so if you can guy a GTX 680 with two display ports. If not, there are adapters like costabunny mentioned.

Those adapters mentioned are for going from Mini DisplayPort to DVI, not the other way around.

Atlona makes or made some DVI to Mini DisplayPort adapters, as does Geffen (eBay link from costabunny).

Thank you all for the suggestions but will these adapters work though? Be ebay one is the closest that would work but I'd have to use a coupler or something to connect it with the monitor. I read about other adapters like the eBay one that are only "one way" and only working from a monitor to a laptop with a mini-displayport.

The cable on the apple cinema display isn't interchangeable, its the three headed one that has the male mini-displayport end, the usb, and the laptop charger (both of my monitors are like that).

I'm basically going from this:

With the first monitor I can just use the enclosed display port to mini-display port but its the second one I'm not sure on.

nVidia cards don't have two dual link DVI?

Depends on the manufacturer, my Asus GTX670 has two DL-DVI, one DisplayPort and one HDMI port.

You need something like this, though it costs 200 USD which makes it 400 USD for two displays.

But then again, you could use a DisplayPort (male) to Mini DisplayPort (female) adapter, which should cost less than 25 USD hopefully, and then you get one of those more expensive converters.

I plan on selling my mini display port ACD and upgrading to 2 Thunderbolt ACD's at some point. They can be found on Craigslist for cheap(er).

How does this pertain to chrono1081's problem of connecting to MPD displays to the GTX680 with one DisplayPort and two DL-DVI ports?

Thunderbolt ACDs won't work on any existing Mac Pro, so I hope your plan is for some other computer.
