I know that a carrier update shouldn't have any affect on screen brightness, but wow... since I installed it, I had to turn my brightness down to way below half.. and its still really bright.

I mean, not a bad thing since hopefully it will save battery.

Maybe its just my eyes, or maybe it was actually changed in 3.1 and I'm only now noticing it.

Since it's an update from AT&T for solely MMS, my guess is that you are just imagining a carrier update affected your screen brightness...

Maybe AT&T

wanting to get back in everybody good graces improved Apples software, but shhhh don't tell Apple! maybe you turned screen brightness up after the update. ;)

How much weed did you smoke while applying the carrier update? In my experience, this has a direct effect on how bright the screen was after applying. Also, try clear eyes. It gets the red out.

All kidding aside, and as you mentioned, there's no way this caused a change in brightness. It must have been something else. Perhaps ambient light has somehow changed and it's auto brightness feature has played tricks on you.
