So, for email, I have my Gmail account set in the built in iOS mail app for as you all know there’s also a setting called “iCloud” under the “Fetch New Data” settings page on iOS which I guess controls the frequency in which data from the health app, contacts and calendars are synced to iCloud, I have it set to push and was wondering if it’s the proper optimal setting or whether I’m possibly wasting unnecessary battery life and should have that set to fetch instead? There’s also manual as an option but I’m afraid if I set it to manual then my data will no longer be synced if I make a change to a contact, add a calendar event or my health data. I don’t even know how one “Manually” forces a sync within the contacts or calendars app to occur to iCloud. With that being said, I do have my actual Gmail account on that settings page set to MANUAL as I only want the mail app to check for new email when I open the mail app.

Is my iPhone set app properly by having the iCloud set to PUSH under the fetch new data page in the settings app?

iCloud can push (email, etc) but Gmail can only Fetch. Right now you're set to fetch manually so the only way you'll get new gmails is by dragging down on the list to "Refresh."

Got it, as far as battery life is concerned that’s better than have the fetch interval set to say, 30 minutes etc? Right?
