I just got these, am liking them so far (though they're a bit heavy but I suppose I'll get used to it) but when I went to bed last night they were at 100% and I just checked now and they're at 92%.

That seems like a pretty big drain for not doing anything all night. Is this normal? According to Apple they're supposed to go into low power mode when you take them off, but 8% gone overnight is not what I call "low power mode"!

It takes time for them to go into low power mode. It isn't as soon as you take them off.

There is the possibility of a firmware update overnight, last one came 4-6 weeks ago so depending when/where you got them

I really wish there was an easier way to simply invoke a waiting firmware upgrade if one is waiting. I can on my Apple Watch via my iPhone.

I have the same issue, even with them in the case. Hopefully, a future firmware update will fix it. Not being able to turn off the headphones completely is my biggest gripe with the APM, but everything else is fantastic.

This may end up being a dealbreaker for me, because I might go 5 days without having to use my headphones, then suddenly need to use them. If they're going to be at 20% battery or dead after long periods of disuse they're just not going to fit my usage profile. :(

My previous headphones (Bose QC 35), if you put them in your bag at 90%, you could pull them out a MONTH later and they'd still be at 90%.

Just put them in the case or on the charger?

Even in the case, they lost 8% overnight again. Bah.

This is frustrating. I'm listening to them right now; I may just learn to live with this as they're so great otherwise!

Indeed, sucks!
That's exactly the reason I returned my AirPods Max within the 30 days
