Is it normal for Studio Display to flash colors/color calibrate every time I plug it in or put laptop to sleep?

See attached videos. New Studio Display. Every time I plug in my laptop it runs through a sequence of colors like a pixel refresher/color calibration. It does the same thing every time I put Mac to sleep. Is this normal? And is there a way to turn it off?

Never saw this behavior with my ASD. So, i would say it is not normal. Did you try to connect it directly to your Mac instead of using the dock?

Yes, no difference. Also with an Intel iMac.

Not normal. Reboot display (pull power, wait, plug back in).

Rebooting didn't work either. Ended up returning it
