So if I just close the top, is that sleeping? It's not that big of a deal to hit option-apple-eject to put it to sleep, but just for future reference...
Yep...just close it and make sure that the little light on the edge of the case is pulsating, and you're good to go!
wow, i had no idea this was even an issue.
however, to fit it in a case, it would have to be closed. therefore it would be sleeping anyway. so i guess there wouldn't be any way to carry it around w/o it sleeping, right?

Technically you could if you used a program like SleepLess to prevent it from going to sleep. Also, some people have had their notebooks pop open (maybe something pressed against the latch) and wake up while in the bag. That can lead to overheating since there's no way to vent. But typically it's not a problem...I've never had an issue in five years of carrying iBooks/PowerBooks around.d wade said:
