This may sound silly, but what better place to ask?

I use my iPhone at the hair salon while under the dryer. Once the heat starts warming my iPhone screen though, I always end up putting it away. I'm not certain that my concern is justified. I've seen a lady using her Kindle while under the dryer.

Once I receive my iPad 3G, I'll have the same concern.

What are your thoughts?

It's a judgement call. If you think that the heat that is blowing onto the iPad is so warm that it could damage the iPad then you should put it away. I've never been in a hair saloon and have only seen those hair dryers on TV so I don't have a first hand knowledge of salon hair dryer dangers. Good luck, I don't even use a hair dryer... I use a towel.

Can't be too careful, so I suggest putting a protective case on it and be careful because I sure know hot those dryers get.

I don't even know what 'under the dryer' means.

Your hands dont burn up when under the dryer, do they? Of course not, lol...your iPad, in your hands, will be fine.

Are you a woman who regularly goes to the hair salon out of curiosity? It can get quite hot but I think the OP's iPad should be fine as long as it's kept on her lap.

This is a ridiculous question to begin with, but to answer your question, no. I am however the husband of a model, whom ive accompanied to the salon several times before shoots. My BlackBerry gets hotter while tethering to my MacBook Pro sitting next to her, then her iPhone does while she is under the dryer.

I don't share your opinion, valid question since this is not a webcam forum :p

Be careful of condensation getting under the ipad screen

Took my iphone into the bathroom once and screen steamed up underneath - took weeks to dry out!!
