Is it only maps that allows lock screen guidance?

I have co-pilot, Apple maps, Google maps. Use them all sporadically for navigation.

Although co-pilot was a paid, app I keep going to Apple maps, as I prefer that I can lock my iPhone and it "pops up" instructions when needed at junctions etc, handy when traveling on motorways so the iPhone is effectively locked and screen off.

Is it only Apple maps that do this, if so can the others do this or is it Apple not showing other apps to?

I've tried Google Maps, Navigon and Waze and none of them offer this functionality.

Thanks, wonder why as it's a good idea to me, battery saver as I don't always plug in my iPhone.
