Hi Guys, I am interested to install myself a new internal hard drive onto my Macbook Pro Yonah 2.0 Ghz. How much largest size it could be fitted in ?

I found that only 250 GB HDD can be fitted in with 17" Macbook Pro SR 2.4 Ghz. Can I install it onto my Macbook Pro Yonah ? Or is there any rpm limitations ?

I've installed a 100gb seagate momemtus running at 7200 rpm and the heat is less than the 100 gb seagate momentus running at 5400rpm that apple installed in my powerbook.

I did the exact thing by getting a 250gb 5200rpm drive and it is amazing! i get better battery life, it is cooler, and waay more space. Do it!

What model numbers are you using. I did a search and could not find many 250gb 5400rpm drives. I really could use one. I keep filling up my 160 with photos / music. I usually end up with 30gig or so free and want to try and do some dvds.

Just installed my 250gb 5200rpm WD Scorpio tonight. Install wasn't nearly as bad as I thought. LOVE all the extra space :D

It's a New Zealand website store :

Hitachi & WD both make 250GB 5400rpm drives. Hitachi even makes the fast (7200rpm) and quiet 200GB drive. Just go to newegg.com and drive down to the 2.5 inch drives.

Cheers,
