iOS is it possible to gather some information about the iPhone OS

Hi.
Are there any classes that can get some information from the system? For example, I wonder how many times safari has been launched, when was it installed and when was it launched last time? Or could my app know programmatically how long the phone been used?

i don't believe you can
unless you create a jialbroken app, apple won't let you access those parts of the phone

ok. what if i want to get a full list of the third parties software that have been installed on my iphone. is there a chance.

again not that i know of,
they have closed quite a bit off from you,
my understanding is that you cannot access anything outside of your app
So you can't check what other apps the phone has etc

The only things it can access from anywhere outside of the app is, I believe, contacts, photos, music and, once 3.1 is released, videos.

i agree with both of you. i also think that the limit is the sandbox, we can access any other place. but my friend insist that it can. for he can install some unix tools, which can even navigate to /private/var folder.
he said someone has done this already, so anybody can likewise.
i have not got a clue how did others do. or how to crack it? Are I and my friend talking about the same thing?

i recognised all that he wants is hack & crack. and he is always thinking since someone had cracked apple, anybody and everybody can do it easily. but at the moment, i just want to be a good citizen and do things legally. and i as far as i am concern, in this world just exist one or maybe two michael scofield. or else apple, microsoft do not exist today...
