Is it possible to get more than 60hz on an external monitor with a macbook air (2018) ?

As the title states. I really like my MacBook Air, the only downside being (Mac in general) the lack of gaming possibilities. I now play games through the Geforce Now streaming service. It's actually quite great, allows me to play any game I like (also windows exclusives).

I would like to connect my MacBook Air to a monitor with a high refresh rate (preferably 120Hz), can I achieve this with, for example a DisplayPort 1.4 to USB-C?

Has anyone had any succes with other cables?
