Carrier Is it possible to have multiple T-Mobile data plans on one iPad?

Is it possible to order an additional sim card, register a new email with the service and then obtain an additional data plan if you already have a registered data plan with T-Mobile with the same iPad?

Sure.. If you want to swap SIM cards. Ther is no way to incert two sim cards at the same time.. Ther use to be when SIM cards were bigger

I flip flop between Verizon and T-Mobile sim cards all the time. Some areas I travel work for one but not the other and I use my iPad extensively for work. I see no reason why you couldn't use two different T-Mobile sims.

I was thinking that maybe because the you log in via an assigned device ID as well as your email, that it would possibly check the IMIE in the process. Right now I switch between AT&T and T-Mobile regularly.

Just curious, have you tried this with T-Mobile? It's kind of mind blowing that it was possible without swapping at any point in time.

It works. I have two active Tmobile free data accounts that I swap here and there.

Agreed. It works just fine. I have three sims each configured with 200mb free data accounts that I can swap in my iPad Air. Never have really needed them since my 3GB plan is more than enough data for what I do, but with TMO constantly offering sims for free or a penny shipped... I say why not.

The only thing you can't do is use the 200MB free in anything other than the device that the 200MB plan was activated in. As far as paid data plans go, you can use as many on one device as you want.

I found out about the 200MB free being limited to the device it was activated on when I went to use a sim card that was activated on a Nexus 7, and put it in my iPad. the 200MB wouldn't work and so I couldn't use my 3GB data plan either because that wont get used until the 200MB free is used.

I had to call T-mobile and have them remove the 200MB free so that I could use my 3GB. They told me in order to get the 200MB free for my iPad, I would have to order a new sim card. That was about 6 months ago and I don't need 200MB free so i am still using the same sim card.

There is nothing stopping you from having as many sim cards that use the 200MB free on one device. I once had four that I was using on my iPad. All four of those SIM cards quit working with the 200MB free when I got a new iPad. I would have to get new SIM cards activated on the new iPad in order to get 200MB free again.

I got 3 additional sim cards today (apparently I could only order 3 at a time, I will order 3 more later) and activated them. In total I have 800mb of free LTE, but I want 1.4GB total. I don't mind sim switching them on the fly as I mentioned I already have the removal tool and sims in a small ziplock bag in my wallet. For each SIM I simply registered a separate E-Mail address and marked it with an indicating letter on the front side so I would know what E-Mail accounts they were under.

As for it being tied to one device, I think that's not a problem. I'm more than happy to keep my iPad around until it dies anyways. Switching SIMs is a very minor sacrifice for free mobile data. Thanks again for all the input, very helpful replies everyone.
