hello macateers i was just wonering is it possible to just unlock and iphone 3g. i dont want to jailbreak it. thank you in advance
 
yes! if you carrier allows, like mine does, you just call them up and ask them to unlock your phone. they tell you to restore it after an hour and iTunes says "your iphone is now unlocked"

no i mean using a program.
 
The unlock for the 3G is Ultrasn0w. It is only works/executable by jailbreaking. If you want, you can try getting a sim adapter to put underneath the sim card. I have personally used this myself temporarily and it works ok. There are some that even say they work with OS 3.0. They do not require jailbreaking.
