Is it possible to keep Safari from launching the Google Docs app?

What the title says...

I've read a lot about how awesome is Safari for iPadOS, allowing to edit Docs with the full desktop interface.

However, if I try to open a Google Doc in Safari it launches the app.

Does anybody know how to fix it?

Edit:
Mmm... it seems if I type docs.google.com and open a document it will stay in Safari.

However if I go to drive.google.com and open the document from there, it will launch the app.
