Have a iPhone 4 and AT&T has placed the restriction to only AT&T towers. We live in a shared area have been with them for 10 years. Went over their usage limit on a unlimited plan. Would really like to "lift" the restriction and stay under their usage amount. Is their a hack for this?

If you are asking about unlocking your phone for all GSM carriers, you can pursue an IMEI unlock from AT&T or a grey market vendor.

Various carriers offer different plans.

no there is no way to lift or fake a restriction it's done through your IEMI. your only option is if your not on contract get it unlocked and change carriers. you can talk to AT&T and see if you can work it out.

Nope. The restriction is placed on your phone for excessive off-network usage. It is all done on the provisioning end, not on your phone, and i do nit think there is any way around it. If you can show that you have no on-network coverage at your home address, you may be able to get out of your contract without a penalty. Otherwise, I'm afraid your stuck.
