I don't even want to replace it.

From time to time it dying and not working at all. I don't care about this, but this causes other casualties, like it mac can't sleep when its bugging. Or it started to appear purple screen for .1 second when restarting mac. I think all of this caused by touchbar server.
What if I remove it and just leave it as is? Does someone have experience?

Options include:
  • Live with it as it is (including t/s to see if it's a software issue)
  • Replace it (presume out of warranty = expensive)
  • Use an external keyboard
  • Try removing it yourself (which may not affect the sleep issues; the cause of the glitch may not be the display itself but rather whatever's sending info to it - which may or may not realize it's no longer there)
  • Trade it in
Probably a few others.

I second the trade in. A couple months ago, I traded my 13" M1 for a 16" M3 Pro. They gave me $600 trade in. I only paid $1150 for it during tax free week. I definitely got $550 worth of use out of it for the 2.5 years I owned it. It was a base config, if its not I imagine trade in becomes way less attractive.
