Is it Possible to replace my MBPw/iPad Pro w/IOS 11

I know, a zillion threads on this question but I have a different reason for asking. And I thought if I asked this question in a related thread, it would get buried w/o answer. So, my situation is.....I am a relatively simple user, mostly contrnt consumption. Six weeks ago, I would have said one of my needs for my mbp was to transfer photos from my camera to edit them. Now I have Affinity Photo on my iPad Pro (new 12.9"). The one remaining reason for having to use my mbp is, when someone sends me a PDF by email that I need to download.
For those of you using the beta IOS 11, is this possible on a ipad pro when this is a final public release in Sept?

I think you don't have to wait for iOS11 for your use case. Even the PDF in mail is no issue, but I have not tried this recently with the standard mail app as I mainly use Outlook for all business mails. With Outlook, attachments of PDFs or any MS Office document are no problem at all.

I also tested Affinity Photo on my iPad 12.9 (2015). While the first version was still buggy, the current one is already much improved. But importing images directly from the camera didn't work (yet?), so one has to go through the Photos app. Importing from there (RAW image format ! ), developping in Affinity Photo, then exporting back works well. I have compared some test images, developed on my MacBookPro (15" 2015) with Lightroom to the Affinity Photo version, and found no significant difference. But I still prefer the Lightroom on MacBook workflow.

For the record: I recently sold my iPad 12.9 (2015) and have the new version on order.

Where do you store your photos and how much storage do they consumer? will an iPad be sufficient in that?

Do you shoot RAW and can the iPad/apps handle that?

I'm not saying the iPad is a poor chose, but rather review what you use your laptop for and see if the iPad can fullfill those needs.

I have used Affinity Photo as photo editer on my MBP since Nov 2015. I shoot Raw photos. At this point, I am very satisfied with my iPP taking over those tasks. Have only been using Affinity for iPad for about a week but if there are any limitations ATM, I have confidence in Serif fixing with updates. Its the PDF attachments in email that I will be watching to see if my iPP can handle that in the future. I use my ISP's POP email. Storage - I got 256gb on this new ipad and I have 50gb icloud storage, will keeps that updated as needed.

The OP's situation is nearly exactly mine, except I would be replacing my MacBook Air & Aperture combo with the iPP and Affinity. I shoot in raw, too, and wonder how that would go.

May I ask how you get your photos from the camera to the iPP? I doubt there's a cable that could connect my camera (Sony aplha7) to the iPP.

Its the PDF attachments in email that I will be watching to see if my iPP can handle that in the future.

Yep--PDF Expert should work just fine, or you can even just download PDFs into iBooks and they sync to iCloud now too. I have found that the ability to write on PDFs with the Pencil has also made life a lot easier. The only time I ever need my printer is when someone needs me to sign something. Now it doesn't even need to be printed out. In fact, I haven't bothered getting new printer ink in a year or so.

Scanner Pro is also great if you want to scan things and keep digital copies as PDFs or scan things to sign and send them off.
