Would hate having to spend over $500 for a new watch. Does Apple offer battery replacement for the Apple Watch? (All series)?

From the website:
Battery service - United States
Apple’s Limited Warranty covers batteries that fail due to workmanship and material. If we find that your battery is defective and is covered by warranty, consumer law, or AppleCare+, then there’s no fee. Apple’s warranty and AppleCare+ are in addition to your existing consumer law rights.

Our warranty doesn’t apply to batteries that get consumed from normal use. If your battery was consumed by normal use, you may be able to replace your Apple Watch for a battery service fee, as shown below.

If you bought AppleCare+ for Apple Watch, it includes replacement coverage for consumed batteries at no additional charge if your battery holds less than 80 percent of its original capacity.

Battery service In-warranty or
with AppleCare+
Battery service fee
(out of warranty)

All eligible Watch models $0 $79

Zero$ is for AppleCare, $79 for out of warranty but apparently with AC+ I would say contact them and see, it apparently depends on your series, warranty status, etc...

You can always replace the battery yourself - it is not as difficult as you may read.
apple wont replace batteries in aus but can sell you a 'refurbished' one for just over $300aud.
Series 1 parts are a lot less expensive than series 3 and 4, eg series 1 lcd $55aud versus series 3 at over $250. However, a later series has less micro connectors making repair easier.
Please to see that apple in usa have a battery replacement policy for older watch series.
In aus, it is just a replacement for $300 or so. Better to put that to a new series 3.
