Is it possible to rip HD-DVD's?

I got a HD-DVD drive for my Hackintosh for $20. I'm curious if there's any way to rip them for iTunes? And, actually, is there any way to play them, or do I need to boot into Vista?

You need:

1. Vista or XP
2. AnyDVD HD
3. Isobuster v2.3
4. tsMuxeR v1.8.4(b)
5. MKVToolnix v2.2.0

And a guide I've PMed you should help if it doesn't ask the guy who wrote it as he might be able to help more than I can.

I know you said HD, but I was also wondering if anyone had ripped blue ray with a ps3 using Linux ? Boy I bet that would chaff sony's ass.

Will Handbrake ever be able to do this? Or are these new HD dvds (Blu ray inc.) specially encrypted?

@Nermal Post 51 is almost the same as what I've shown him the guides to only halfway through it swaps to Mac, Which I'm guessing is more trouble than it worth? & why does do you export the AC-3 to AIFF, & make an AVI then passthrough to .Mov? I think the guide I've shown him are more up to date as you can make a .Mp4 eventually without going through & deleting decent codec but I could be wrong.

@Wilson1984 you can as if I remember correctly when people started to rip BD's they used Linux in the PS3 (As no BD Drives for PC's were out then).

@SpaceMagic Hopefully in the future, I'd like them to but I guess it won't happen until Apple start releasing BD Drives as standard on their products &/or there enough demand.

I'd say it is quite likely as long as you decrypt it elsewhere.
