I'm trying to play music through internal speakers and some externals by way of a wireless transmitter (so I can have music in two rooms while cleaning). Anyone know if this is possible on an MBP?

I can't seem to make it happen in the sounds prefs.

Sorry, I should have been more clear. I already have my wireless transmitter; I can get the music in the room with the external speakers, the problem is that I'd like the sound to play through the internal speakers as well.

A more simple way of asking it would have been to ask if it was possible to play music through headphones and built in speakers at the same time.

buy a pair of external speakers for your room/desk, and get a headphone splitter...other than that i dont think itll work, its a hardware thing to bypass the speakers when you plug in headphones i think

It is possible, but someone would have to design software that sent the audio out to all the sources and kept it in sync.

Keeping it in sync would be the hard bit - transmitting to wireless speakers and having the MBP speakers play exact in time would be tricky. Check the video delay out when you use Airtunes to stream audio from a film or something.

Only way I got round to getting music playing in different rooms at a cheap way is to get someone to stand in one room and me in the other, and count 3,2,1 "press the play button!"

maybe one of these things is in order??
