I am working on a MacBrook Pro, OSX 10.8.5.
In the Finder, I am able to arrange by "none", but I do not seem to have this same capacity in sort by "none."
I am a landscape designer, and am sending a proposal (word doc) to a client, and want to send them the pictures of the plants in folders, sorted the same way they are listed in the proposal so that they will be able to follow easily.
In the proposal, I have them listed in an order that shows the largest plants to smallest (trees>shrubs>vines>ornamental grasses>perennials>groundcovers). This enables the clients to determine what in the list provides the largest scale and has the most impact.
In the finder's picture files, I have folders of the categories (trees, shrubs, etc) and each within each category's folder, the plants are sorted by name (as they are on the proposal). This is no problem.
The problem is that I cannot sort the folders themselves as I want to show them in order to match them to the appropriate lists in the proposal. That is, they automatically arrange by none, but won't sort by none, and so they sort themselves by name, and show up alphabetically as groundcover, ornamental grasses, perennials, shrubs, trees, vines; not by the order in which I want them. I am unable to drag them into the order I need.
Is what I want to do possible? Any suggestions will be appreciated.
