I have a question I’m hoping someone can answer for me. I use Apple Music and I have a HomePod and HomePod Mini (in different physical rooms) that I’m able to stream music to simultaneously. So, I can go from one part of the house to another and the same music is playing through different rooms. I do this through Airplay by selecting both Homepods to stream to.

I also have an Echo (in another physical room). Now, I can stream my Apple music to the Echo that works fine. I can also stream Apple Music to the two HomePods (simultaneously). No problem. However, I can’t figure out how to stream to all 3 devices simultaneously. Is it possible?

In the Apple Music app, I can select both HomePods to stream to (via Airplay). However, when I try and then select the Echo too (via Airplay), the HomePods are “deselected”. So, it looks like it’s an either/or thing (ie either homepod(s) or Echo…but not both at the same time).

Not sure about this. Do you mean for it to be all I’m sync playing the same song at the same time across all the speakers?

Can you not use voice controls to start playback on the echo?

Yes, for example. If I open the Apple Music app on my iPhone and play a song. I can then click on the “Airplay” icon and select “all” of my HomePods (ie I have the full size and a min HomePod) and the song will play from both of these devices at the same time. Now, if I have my Echo connected to my iPhone (via bluetooth), I also see it (ie the Echo) listed as an option to select when I click the ”Airplay” icon. But, if I “also” try to select the Echo in Airplay (ie trying to get the song to now play to 3 speakers…the 2 HomePods AND the Echo), it automatically “deselects” the 2 HomePods and only plays to the Echo. So, it looks like it’s an either/or situation. Either I stream the songs (via Airplay) to the HomePod(s)…..OR….I stream the song (via Airplay) to the Echo….but not both simultaneously. I hope there is a way to stream to all 3…but I don’t think so.
