Is it possible to sync iCloud phonebook on Android mobile?

Just wondering if there is a way to keep in sync the phonebook between iOS/iCloud and Android, I use iCloud to keep my MacOS and iOS devices in sync and now wish I could also propagate the data, primarily the phonebook, to an Android smartphone.

Any suggestion welcome

Since you'll need a Google account to really get full use out of your Android device. I'd recommend exporting all your contacts from iCloud and importing them into your Google account. Then use your Google account henceforth for contact storage and syncing. It's just that it will make life a lot easier when it comes to cross platform syncing. The same goes with calendars.

If you don't want Google with that info. Microsoft (Outlook.com) is also excellent for this. You don't have to use the email addresses you setup with them for e-mail. Just use the cloud services you want and ignore the rest. Yahoo is also decent for this but doesn't have as wide spread support. Pretty close though.

Of course if you don't trust anyone with that info. You could always setup a CardDAV and CalDAV server. But that isn't quick and easy.

See if Google Contacts is available on IOS, then you could have a multi-platform synch.

As a side note: I doubt that Google would be parsing a phones contacts, then call those contacts and say, Hey I got your number off Ralph's device.

If I'm not mistaken, iCloud uses standard protocols of CardDAV. Unfortunately, Android doesn't support those natively. You will need an app on Android to sync those.
This is one of them, but it's quite old, and not that reliable.

Alas, Google is kinda nudging you to just use their own protocols on Android because it's "easier and more reliable." Luckily, iPhones do support GMail contacts and calendar. So I would just export your contacts to GMail, and have your Apple devices sync with it for contacts.
