I’m wondering if it’s possible to trade in an old iPhone to Apple after I’ve already purchased the 12. I know they have generous return policies and am curious if anyone’s ever done this or heard anything.

If not, that’s fine too. I don’t mind keeping a spare backup phone. I had an old 6S in very good condition.

I don’t believe that you can trade in a phone and have it apply retroactively to a purchase when you didn’t select the trade in option at the time of purchase. But if you go here... https://www.apple.com/shop/trade-in...20989_&cid=aos-us-kwbi-brand--slid---product-

You can scroll down and select gift card and trade in your phone for a gift card. That way you can use the credit for a future purchase of whatever you want from the apple store.
