I've been searching the internet (and the forum for that matter) to find the answer, but I hope somebody can give me a definitive answer or direct me in the right direction. It seemed that some have been able to upgrade the graphics card in the old white iMacs, but can it be done in the new models? I currently am not a Mac owner - I come from the school of build-your-own PCs. The obvious solution is to go the Mac Pro route for upgrading, but my price starts skyrocketing as I play with customization (so I'm trying to keep the cost down). Thanks for your input!

Short answer, No.

It's a dedicated card, but integrated into the main board. If you know what I mean.

The current iMac probably is similar to the iMac 24, using the shape and size of the MXM card -- but isn't. Or simply has some bios/ROM issues expected of EFI products.

Which listed the iMac 24 as not compatible with MXM upgrades.

Thanks for the info...I guess I'll have to decide how antsy I am (to wait for a newer Mac Pro or price drop on existing) or how deep I want to dig into my pockets :)
