I've got a 1.5Ghz Intel Mini. What I'd like to do is yank out the M-Audio sound card in my G4 and use it with my Mini. I'm wondering if there is such a thing as a PCI card external enclosure; like something you'd put on an old internal HD so you could use it externally.

anybody have any ideas?
 
There was a product called Magma (IIRC) which provided a chassis with multiple PCI sockets (and an earlier one with NuBus sockets). This was designed for ProTools recording rigs where you need to have multiple processor cards. It was #^$@9g expensive though - starting at $700 and going up from there.

The problem you have is that there is no PCI slot on the Mini to bring the signals out on, so what would you attach the card to?

Give it up, and look for a Firewire or USB sound card.
