Hi I'm a newbie and am delighted to find your site. I just purchased my first MAC after many years of fighting with PC's and am re-designing my website using iweb. Is there a way to have the images appear in a different order each time a person views the site? I make and sell jewelry and would like the pages to look new and updated every time a customer checks me out.

Since I have PayPal buttons, those would have to stay with the images as well.

Is this possible?

Using just iWeb will not be able to do what you are wanting. iWeb is a very simple website creator and not able to do many advanced things.

I don't know of a way to dynamically change the ordering of images with iWeb natively. You would need to do some hand-coding of the iWeb files before uploading them, most likely.

Well if your content is marked up semantically enough (with iWeb not sure that'll be the case) and you can tell iWeb to attack a JavaScript file then it wouldn't be horribly hard to write some JavaScript that would re-order the pictures components. This all depends on the HTML iWeb generates for it though. If you have the site setup somewhere we could look at it and see if a solution is possible. Also see if iWeb lets you link to an external JavaScript file and let us know about that (or if someone else here has that answer, please share).

If you used PHP/MySQL and loaded your images and content dynamically then that would actually be quite easy to do. But as others have said, you'll have to go a bit beyond iWeb to get that sort of functionality.
