The only thing I’m really worried about is theft/loss which is probably not covered anyway. I rarely had any accidental damage with my past earphones.

I’d say yes for sure.

I just brought it. In 23 months time I’ll be making sure the batteries are still within their expected limits, anywhere near I’ll make sure they are swapped out. Giving me another 2 years usage.

I have purchased hundreds of Apple devices over the years, and have never bought AppleCare. I could have used it once, for a cracked iPad screen. However, with the money I’ve saved I could probably buy a Mac Pro.

As long as you use the crap out of them within the next 2 years so the battery is under 80%, you can get it swapped for free for a new pair with AppleCare+. Cheap enough at $29. Otherwise, I personally wouldn't get it.

The AirPods Pro have a pretty widespread defect which so far Apple has been covering under warranty. There's no extended repair program for these, so it seems that after 2 years you'd be on the hook for paying for replacements when this problem happens.

Yup. If it was worth it to consumers, Apple wouldn’t sell it.

I don’t need insurance on everything I own.
