I wanted to get some of my favorite Beatles albums for the service. I'm worried they'll be deleted or messed up tho

I any of my few thousand bought or iMatched songs. Best part is if you own the Beatles it will stream the Beatles.

It's safe to buy them, just make sure you back them up somewhere that iTunes can't fubar them later.

The albums definitely won't be deleted or otherwise, but rumor has it Apple is working on a deal to add The Beatles to Music.

No really, they might. It's happened. They won't be deleted from your "purchased music" unless you do that yourself, but they might be removed from your device/computer, renamed, given incorrect art, replaced with DRM'd versions, etc. Read this:

Just back up everything you buy. You should be doing that anyway, but this is a case in which being diligent about is going to be pretty important.

Apple will not remove your non drm music; it doesn't belong to them.

People usually think that because they remove the originals themselves.

Just like Apple won't remove songs from my hard drive? LOL.

Believe whatever you like, but bugs make applications do weird stuff, and this app is basically a hive.

I have 0 purchased songs on my Mac I just wanted to buy a few albums.

I figure The Beatles will not be streaming anytime soon

Here are some facts for you. You can do your own testing if you like. I turned on iCloud Music on my Mac and let it sync all my music. It fubared my album art on phone, so I uninstalled it. In the meantime, I did nothing else other than add some Apple music to my phone (not my Mac - nothing was deliberately downloaded to my Mac). When I deactivated iCloud Music it removed some of my music (MY music, not purchased from iTunes, not downloaded from AM) from my Mac's hard drive. I know for a fact that it did, because the albums are there in in the backup I made immediately before installing the new update. So... Like I said, do your own testing. See if stuff in your hard drive is changed. But I sure hope you have a backup.

As far as DRM goes, I didn't check for that. I just dumped my entire music folder and reloaded it from my backup. But it's completely possible, with how many bugs this software has, that it's doing all kinds of things that Apple never intended.
