Hi all,

I'd like to download the flash player mentioned above for playing games, sending photos, etc. but I'm not sure if it would be a good choice with respect to safety.

Please mind that I don't really know the ropes of this 'field'.

(macOS 10.12.6)

Thanks for the answers in advance!:)

I use Google chrome if I need flash (which is very seldom). Chrome has flash player built into it: https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/enabling-flash-player-chrome.html which means you don't need to download flash player.

I use Flash on Firefox and have had no issues over the years. Yes, Flash sucks and is a security risk, but if you keep it updated, (a trial in itself) you'll probably be OK. You can also use it with Safari and it will work OK.

It's 100% safe to download Flash as long as you download it from an official source.
Just don't install it, that's when the trouble starts.

Seriously though, use Chrome or something for flash content. Flash sucks.

Even given the idea that you use Chrome for Flash, you are saying you still prefer Safari over Chrome for day to day (non flash) surfing?

I don't do my day to day surfing on my mac. In general I prefer Opera over Chrome as I find Chrome to consume too many resources. Which is interesting on its own lately.

I've had Flash installed since... so far back that I can't remember... and never have had a lick of trouble with it, except now and then when it was fully up-to-date. An update cured that.
