I have a new MBP 16" machine that as built had 12.0 on it. Software Update is offering me 12.0.1 and I am wondering if it is safe to update the OS, considering all the bad things that were happening during Monterey updates. I suspect that I'm safe, because my machine is already running the OS and was not upgraded from an earlier version of MacOS. I have my backups done and can proceed with the update if it is safe to do so.

So, has anyone with a new Mac delivered with Monterey had any problem with the current update?

Thanks

John

I'm using a new MPB 14" and still afraid to update to 12.0.1 because of the stories of USB hubs not working...

I had no trouble with the update. I have an OWC USB-C travel dock, and that works perfectly. I guess that counts as a hub.

But be sure you have a backup before installing any system update.
