My :apple: iphone should be arriving this week and I'm just wondering if it will be safe for me to upgrade straight away. The firmware is 1.1.2 and it is unlocked via turbosim 5. I have heard so many stories about how it relocks your iphone, and how the applications will not work when you upgrade. Can someone please set the record straight for me...Whats the deal with it???;)

I did the soft upgrade to the wife's iPhone and there are quite a few problems with it. It won't connect via edge, syncing is wrong for contacts and calendars, and the clocks are forced to Cupertino time.

Use Ziphone.

i also have problems with edge. but that's not a big deal at the moment. my contacts sync properly (because you must use the same computer) and clocks - turn set automatically off.

edit: edge WILL work only if you have input the correct APN and username settings. you must also contact your carrier to activate edge/gprs for you.

1.1.3 is terrible. Stay with 1.1.2 if you want reliability and stability.
