I'm on T-Mobile pay as you go plan.

Is it still possible to buy and iphone and unlock it to work on t-mobile in the USA?

I didn't know it ever was possible.

If you don't know what you are talking about, don't answer!

Yes, it's possible. The versions that can be done via software are fetching a premium price.

The versions that need hardware piggyback device are closer to retail price, but after hardware cost, is about the same as software unlocked iPhones.

Also, search before posting, it's been answered a thousand times before.

If you get an iPhone with a 3.9 Bootloader on it then you can unlock and use it on T-Mobile.

iPhone's with 3.9 Bootloader usually have the 4th and 5th digit serial number below 45 or 44

Example 5T740XXXXXX

100% has 3.9 Bootloader

5T746XXXXXX

100% has 4.6 Bootlaoder (Unlockable)

i have the 1.1.2 and turbo simmed it to work on t-mobile flexpay. thats the pay for the month in advance plan tmobile has. the iphone works amazingly and i never have a dropped call or no signal

Thats exactly what I'm on with tmobile as well. I'd like to get an iPhone on it.

I can't believe the prices though. I guess everyone knows you need an older model to unlock.
