I just recently bought a new iPhone 6 that came with ios 8.1.2 (can't remember if the guy at T-mobile updated it for me OTA upon activation or not) and I'm itching to jailbreak it. With the release of 8.2 and Apple no longer signing certain frimwares, I have no idea if it's still safe for me to jailbreak. If I were to create a backup and then proceed to jailbreak, will I be forced to update to 8.2 after restoring? If that's the case, is it too late to jailbreak it? Any guidance is much appreciated!

iPhone Is it still possible to Jailbreak an iPhone running 8.1.2?

8.1.2 and below is still jailbreakable. 8.1.3 and above is not. As long as you are on a version of iOS that is jailbreakable you can still jailbreak even if Apple is not signing that version anymore.
If you are forced to restore however, you are always forced to the latest version and right now that's 8.2.
Lately the advice has been to NOT over the air update in order for the jailbreak to work correctly. If you are unsure if your device was OTA updated then it's possible (assuming it was) that an attempt to jailbreak might fail and force a restore.
Others would know more about the last bit than I.
