I have a 2018 Mac mini and a 2022 MacBook Air and looking at getting an external display so I can put the Mac mini back to use. I don’t do graphic intensive work any longer so I don’t need the latest and greatest, just something that performs good. I’ve heard various things about people picking these up off eBay still since they work fantastic vs spending 500+ on an LG or going for the new XDR displays. All I would require is an adapter for thunderbolt 2. Is it still worthwhile or should I just go for a newer cheap display?

Cinema Display uses DisplayPort, not Thunderbolt. The display connectors look identical, but adapters are not interchangeable. You need a mini-DP to USB-C adapter, not TB.

It's a 2K display, at 109 dpi. That's the same as the TB Display.
I don't know how the speakers, mic and webcam connect, if it's not Thunderbolt.

TBH, I would have a look if you can get a newer 4K 27" display for a similar price. No larger in size, and no smaller in resolution.
