I finally got some free time back, and was thinking about World of Warcraft.

MMORPG's are ok, there have been some I liked. And WOW will run nativly on my Mac.

My question is, I know the games been out forever and a day now. Are they going to release like a 2nd one? I dont want to get into a game some years later only to find that it is going to die soon and be obsolete.

Finally, How will it run on my SR MBP? I know it will run well, Just curious if I can max all the settings out or not...

Thanks

There's plenty of time to play WoW until a sequel comes out. Even if a sequel does come out, chances are people will stick with the first one at least for a while.

WoW is a beautiful game. Though the pressures to be the best at everything before anyone are enormous, and sometimes ruin the game, I have learned to enjoy the game at my pace and play like I want to play.

I played the beta and quit once the game launched. A year later, i signed up. I only have one character and he is a level 65 arms spec warrior.
My friends with whom i play all have several characters at level 70 (the cap) and make fun of me all the time but it doesn't bother me anymore.

WoW is a beautiful gaming experience and I hope you enjoy it.

with the last patch its made it a lot easier for new people to get into the game. its not too late at all. i'm not even at the level cap yet and i've been playing for a year. although not that long with my current character. so jump right in if you want. :)

It all depends on what type of gameplay you enjoy. If you do get into World of Warcraft, don't be afraid of it going away. In the coming months they will release the second expansion pack, which will probably attract even more people too it, even though there is somewhere around 8 million people in the game currently. I personally can't stand playing it for more than a few hours a week. I have paid for two months in the past 18 months. And I have one level 27 and one 16. It is a pretty enjoyable game, and it will run on anything, but you will be missing out on playing the Half Life 2 mod Insurgency, which is just righteous, or other good games. I personally am a First Person Shooter or Real Time Strategy type of gamer. So I find World of Warcraft enjoyable, but can't stop going back to Battlefield 2, Call of Duty 2, and Insurgency.:apple:
