I just read a fairly recent article indicating Apple has banned Ad blockers that use a type of VPN, like AdGuard Pro. I really like that App as it gives me the ability not so much to block ads universally, but because I can see the individual DNS requests and block those IP's/servers tracking.

If this is true its a rather disappointing decision by Apple.

At home I block Ads at the router level so my whole LAN is covered. All Ads, even in the Apple News App, are blocked. So I can still block Ads, but like I wrote I like blocking the trackers.

Hopefully blocking trackers using a third party app will become less important in future because Apple has introduced stronger anti-tracking into Safari with iOS 12.
